Yogurt is a nutritious food that is not only good for breakfast. It is loaded with probiotics that works as antifungal and antibacterial properties which benefits our body inside…and with our skin outside! In this article, we are going to focus on making yogurt face mask to help in treating acne.
In my recent post we talked about using coconut oil for acne treatment, and now let’s move to using yogurt as another natural acne treatment that works, and works for me too! There are lots of recipes and methods in making yogurt face mask, but what we’re going to focus todays is one of the easiest and very calming face mask you’ll surely love! Even now that I’m not suffering from acne anymore, I still love to eat yogurt. My favorite is the plain natural yogurt and I enjoy it’s taste compare to the flavored one, because I am not a fan of sugary foods hehe.. I’m limiting my sugar intake, so a plain yogurt is the best choice for me.
I don’t know where I can find Greek yogurt here in Laguna or even in Manila. I have been looking for too long but hadn’t found one here, or maybe it’s just me who can’t find Greek yogurt here in Philippines? Haha because I’m not going out too often to wander around in grocery stores and supermarkets 🙂 What I only use for my face and eat here in the Philippines is the natural yogurt made by Nestle. That’s what I miss in Australia! Greek yogurt! Haha~~~ Because when I’m there, my boyfriend always buys me a 1 Kg of Greek yogurt for my one week consumption.
Does yogurt works?
I’ve checked out some reviews on yogurt face masks that’s discussing about yogurt’s effectiveness to naturally treat acne and I’ve seen 4.4 positive reviews at the rate of 5. Just a few said that it didn’t work on their acne but only give them a soft and glowing skin. At least it works somehow! haha.. Everyone is different, from lifestyles, hormones, jobs, or diets, and many other things that’s making it more complicated with acne. But I can attest that yogurt face mask had worked on me and it’s one of the homemade acne remedies that have been with me for more than a year now. If only I tried yogurt face mask earlier before, I won’t be sufferring from acne for so many years. Though yogurt is beneficial for our skin and body, it is always best to use natural or plain yogurt, Greek yogurt will be a good choice. And eating natural plain yogurt is better than those flavored one. I am not saying this because I am limiting my sugar consumption. I am saying this because if you are treating your body inside to help in eliminating bad bacteria and fungi, you are only feeding them with sugar, making them to populate more.
